Overview:


Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University is implementing Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program to introduce and scale up high-impact maternal, newborn and child health interventions in Sindh Province. Jhpiego seeks suitable candidates for the following position, based in Karachi of Sindh province.


Responsibilities:



  • Ensures that all payments are made in accordance with JHPEIGO and USAID policies, procedures, and requirements.

  • Closely monitors all financial activities specially per diem payments for participant, and keep informed Senior Finance officer of all instances which have impact adversely on internal controls or financial performance.

  • Training and technical support to logistics and administrative staff and advice on donor requirements and JHPEIGO policies & procedures.

  • Timely preparation and review of monthly bank account and cash reconciliation’s.

  • Review of the bank and cash payment vouchers and making sure that all the required supporting documents are duly attached and are in compliance with the JHPEIGO and USAID requirement.

  • Check regularly Advances, Securities deposits and any other receivable and make proper adjustments wherever necessary.

  • Visit to field offices for monitoring of training as and when required.

  • Disbursement of payment in field level as and when required by the management.

  • Coordinate with the program staff regarding the perdiem payments for training participants in supervision of senior finance officer.

  • Assist the Senior Finance Officer in day to day task as and when required.

  • Dealing with the bank as and when assigned by the supervisor.

  • Identify requirements for and develop reporting formats to aid in the management, operations and grant expenditures.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor in Commerce and/or ACCA partly qualified

  • Excellent organizational and management skills and 1-2 years relevant experience, preferably in the non-profit and/or development sector.

  • Self-management (i.e. motivation, dealing with pressure, adaptability) and the ability to project a professional, consistent image of confidence, integrity, and competence.

  • Proven ability to work in a team

  • Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills

By 2017, thousands of deaths of women, newborn babies and infants will have been prevented as a result of the USAID/Pakistan MCH Program. USAID/Pakistan has, in cooperation with the USAID Office of Inspector General, established the Anti-Fraud Hotline to provide an avenue for the reporting of fraud, waste, and abuse which may be associated with USAID funded projects in Pakistan.
