| Job Description: |
The Assistant Accountant (Fleet) is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records related to the company’s fleet operations, including vehicle expenses, fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and vendor payments. The role supports both the Fleet and Accounts departments in ensuring smooth financial and administrative processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Record and reconcile all fleet-related transactions (fuel, maintenance, tolls, insurance, etc.). Maintain updated records of vehicle registration, insurance, and tax payments. Assist in preparing monthly fleet expense reports and cost analysis. Support the Accounts department in preparing vouchers, ledgers, and petty cash statements. Monitor and verify driver advances and settlements. Assist in vendor invoice verification and payment processing. Coordinate with the Fleet Supervisor for vehicle utilization and cost control data. Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Prepare and file supporting documents for audit and reporting purposes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce. 1–3 years of experience in accounting or fleet finance. Strong knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP). Good understanding of fleet operations and cost management. Attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Ability to coordinate between departments efficiently. |
